About Artist:
His visual art includes abstract paintings, collages, drawings, and mixed media works on paper and canvas. Prior to that, he was active as a composer, conductor, and performer of concert music and some jazz. In the field of music composition, he has received grants and awards from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the New York State Council on the Arts, the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Fromm Foundation, and the Edward McDowell Colony. He has also served for many years as a classical music commentator on SiriusXM satellite radio's “Symphony Hall” (Channel 78).
