RTJ "Coral Influenced Leaf Breath"
RTJ "Coral Influenced Leaf Breath"
Artwork title:
Coral Influenced Leaf Breath
Artist:
Gail Bach
About Artwork:
Her new work is "leaf bathing". It is a derivative concept of the Japanese term "nature breathing," which is based on the idea of "experiencing breathing with nature" - inhaling and exhaling the energy of plants and immersing yourself in the images, thoughts, and emotions that arise in the process. In "The Art of Living," She aimed to create works that would allow the viewer to experience these sensations consciously and unconsciously on multiple levels. I hope that this endeavor will forge a deeper and more meaningful connection between humans and nature. She uses watercolors, including metallics, to paint my images on wood panels or paper.
About Artist:
She is originally from Richland Center, Wisconsin, and has lived in New York City for many years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Master of Fine Arts degree (painting) from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has participated in various programs, including receiving a Yaddo Foundation Fellowship in 1991 and participating in the Whitney Museum of American Art's Independent Study Program (Studio Art) from 1988 to 1989. She has held exhibitions including an informal show at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and a solo exhibition at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions both in the United States and internationally.
